With over two decades dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Keith Herbert began his journey as a white belt under Robin Gieseler before continuing his development with Dustin Ware and Jorge Gurgel in Ohio. While visiting his home in New Jersey he trained under Louis Vintaloro, who awarded him his blue belt. All subsequent ranks — including his black belt in 2015 — were earned under Dustin and Jorge, and Keith currently holds the rank of 2nd-degree black belt.
Throughout his career, Keith has had the opportunity to train with world-class practitioners such as Erik Paulson, Royler Gracie, Saulo Ribeiro, Xande Ribeiro, Regis Lebre, Marcus Aurelio, and Guybson Sá, among many others. He has competed locally and nationally at every belt level, gaining experience that directly informs his coaching.
Keith is known for his strong emphasis on detailed, technical instruction and takes pride in helping students of all levels develop solid fundamentals, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the art.
